Sepp Blatter recently caused controversy in the world of sport when during an interview he likened footballers under contracts to that of people working as slaves.
Blatter was being questionned on the on-going saga regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's proposed move to Real Madrid, implying that Manchester United were treating Cristiano like a slave, and not allowing him to follow his dreams and move to the Bernabeu.
Cristiano Ronaldo himself has now added fuel to Blatter's insensitive and ludicrous comments by stating that he agrees with the Fifa President's remarks. He currently believes that he and other footballers are treated like slaves by their clubs, and that they should be allowed to leave a club if they so wish.
Most people in the world of football seem to ignore anything that comes out of the mouth of Sepp Blatter, as on many previous occasions he has come out with some ridiculous and sometimes even offensive comments. However for Ronaldo to agree with Blatter on this occassion it seems to tint Cristiano's own reputation, which has already taken quite a hit recently, especially in the eyes of Manchester United fans.
Ronaldo still seems to be pining for his move to Madrid, although at the moment it seems that he can't agree personal details with the spanish giants. It does seem quite strange if Ronaldo can't agree some details of his contract with Real Madrid, I don't remember slaves ever having the opportunity to negotiate the amount of their earnings and such...
